How to Add, Edit or Delete a Journal Entry

Your Custody X Change journal keeps you organized by giving you a space to store notes about your child, the other parent and your custody case. It works best when you make regular, detailed entries. Find out how below.

Add a new entry

  1. Click the "journal" tab.

  2. Click the "new entry" button in the top right corner.

  3. On the next screen, choose a date for your entry.

  4. Enter a few words to serve as a title.

  5. Beneath that, you have the option to add a more detailed description.

  6. Then click "add a label" to apply as many labels as you want. Labels help you group your entries.

For example, you might label entries with the name of the child concerned, in case you want to see all entries involving that child in the future.

To use existing labels, select them from the list that appears. To create a new label, type it into the label search bar, then select the option that appears beneath it with "(create new)".

  7. Finally, you can upload files (images, documents, etc.) to provide additional information.

  8. When you're done, hit "save," and you'll be taken back to the main page of your journal. If you don't see your new entry in the list, filter by label at the top of the page.

Edit or delete an entry

  1. Click the "journal" tab to go to your journal's main page.

  2. Click the entry you want to edit. (If you can't find the one you want, filter by label using the drop-down menu at the top of the page. Or you can type a keyword, month or year into the search bar.)

  3. If you want to delete the entry, find that button at the bottom right corner of the screen.

If you're making edits, hit "save" at the bottom left corner when you're done.
