Using Offline Mode
With Custody X Change, you can do nearly everything offline that you can online.
For example, you can:
- Add an activity to your calendar while on a flight.
- Enter an expense from a parking lot without using mobile data.
- Search your messages in an area with bad cell service.
- Make a journal entry when your home internet goes out.
You can work offline in both our app and our browser version.

How it works
Offline mode turns on automatically when you're not connected to the internet. Any work you do is stored locally.
Once you're back online, everything you did syncs with our database. If you close Custody X Change first, the sync happens the next time you open it with a connection.
If you plan to work without an internet connection often, download our app. We built it with offline use in mind, so you can open it anytime, even if your airplane has already taken off.
What you can't do offline
The only thing you can't do offline is get updates to or from linked users.
That means that, until you reconnect, you can't see new changes made by your co-parent or other users. And they can't see your changes, or get notified of them, until then.
If you make a change that gets a time stamp — like entering an expense or sending a message — we use the time that you come back online. This way it matches the time your co-parent could first see the change, preventing misrepresentation of when communication happened.
